New Patient Examinations

We recommend eye examinations:

At age 6 months for infants.

At age 3 and 5 years for preschoolers.

Annually for school age children.

Annually for contact lens wearers.

Annually, or as needed, for adults with diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid problems, heart disease, arthritis and other conditions which can cause eye complications.

Every 1-2 years for adults who have no health problems or who require only a simple spectacle prescription.

Annually for adults over 60 years of age. (Eye diseases are much more common in older adults, and can be treated more effectively if detected early.)
